We'd Love to Hear From You

Adopt-A-Pet is a no-kill shelter and is incorporated as a tax-exempt, non-profit Washington state charitable organization and now a 501(c)3 run by a small group of dedicated volunteers deeply concerned with the plight of suffering homeless animals.

Think Spring... Think Plant Sale!

Please mark your calendars for this year's plant sale.  It will be held once again at Our Community Credit Union located at 2948  Olympic Highway North.   The date of the sale is Saturday May 10th, the time of the sale will be announced at a later date.  We are currently seeking volunteers to help with the tasks of gathering plants and donations of garden related items.

If you are interested in helping with this year's plant sale or want to make a donation for the sale... please click on the "contact us" button on the bottom left of this page.

Hope to see you at the sale!

Spay, Neuter, Volunteer or Donate...

Get involved and help make a difference!

In December of 2007 we were finally able to move into our much needed shelter building.  We now have a beautiful but modest building to house our dogs under one roof.  The dogs are enjoying the comforts of the new shelter.  (Especially the heated floors).   With the new building also comes new chores and responsibilities in our dogs daily care.  We are currently in need of volunteers at our shelter and at our re-sale shop.  If you can make a commitment to help out just one day a week at our shelter  for approximately 3 hours, it would make a huge difference in the lives of our shelter dogs.  Just give our Shelter manager a call at 360-432-3091.    If you want to  volunteer at the shop (Tuesdays from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. and the second Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)  please give Pat a call at 426-4269.   If you cannot volunteer but want to help us in our mission, make a donation!  Just click on the link provided below.   Thank you so much for saving a life and giving an animal a fresh start to a new loving home!

"Tailwagger" of the Month -- In Need of a Home...

Meet Sebastian... he was just another stray wandering around a local community for some time.  Animal Control contacted us and we were more than happy to take this beautiful boy in.  Sebastian  is a medium size Border Collie mix who is approximately 2 1/2 years old.   This boy  wants nothing more in life than to be with people.

If you have room in your home and in your heart for the wonderful boy....  Please give us a call today!

Thrift Shop Sales - Every 2nd Saturday of the Month   Get Details.
We've got some terrific stuff at monthly Adopt-A-Pet  Thrift shop sales.  These sales help to finance a piece of AAP's monthly operating expenses.  Come check us out.

Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed every single day of the week!  If you can commit to just a few hours a week...  it would make a huge difference in the daily shelter operations not to mention the lives of our shelter dogs.   The hours vary on a daily basis, so give us a call @ 432-3091 to find out more about the volunteer opportunities that await you.

For those with new puppies (8 weeks to 2 years) in your home, please remember to pick up your 'stuff' -- they do love to chew!

Simple Economics:  Supply and Demand

Why do shelters like Adopt-A-Pet exist?  For a very simple reason:  too many animals and not enough dedicated owners with loving homes.

Yet every new dog that is purchased from a breeder or pet store stimulates new supply.  And every pet not spayed or neutered is the potential for even more unwanted pets.  "Supply" and "demand" are out of sync.

The Facts.

Please help spread the word...

An easy way to help our organization is through a new Yahoo!-powered search engine and online shopping mall called GoodSearch.com. GoodSearch will make a donation to Adopt-a-Pet every time you search the internet and every time you purchase something at one of their partner merchants (including Target, Gap, ebay, Macy’s, BestBuy, Barnes & Noble and hundreds more)! It doesn't cost you a thing — the money comes from the advertisers and the stores.

The more people who use this site, the more money will be raised to help support us in our mission. So please spread the word to your friends and family. Just click on the link below and start shopping today!
