BELLA...
Dear Adopt-A-Pet,
We are true fans of what you do. Please count us among your most loyal supporters.
Almost four years ago when my husband and I moved into our house, one of the first things we wanted to do was find a special dog to share our new life and home. I did a search and found you on Petfinder.com. I was lucky to find a gorgeous litter of puppies and when I called, there were two females left. Our hearts broke because we could only take one and they were both so sweet, but one definitely made herself stand out by flashing her green eyes at us and showering us with kisses. We adopted Bella right away. She has been the love of our lives ever since.
Bella was already potty-trained (which surprised the worker at Adopt-A-Pet during the follow-up call, because she hadn’t been trained at 8 weeks old), she was very cuddly and very friendly with people and animals. She became our first “baby”, going on vacations with us, family outings, and store trips. She even slept in our bed. When I became pregnant, she never left my side, clearly protecting me. She also would cuddle up with her ear next to my belly, listening to the baby and giving it a few kisses… Now that the baby is born she knows she isn’t the only baby in the house, but she loves her little brother and protects him and loves him just as much as her parents. We couldn’t ask for a better dog if we had paid $10,000. Bella is such an important part of our lives and we are so grateful to Adopt-A-Pet for allowing us to bring her home with us.
One last good point to share: The day we adopted Bella we took her to the pet store to get some supplies. A family that happened to be there fell in love with Bella and asked where we adopted her. We told them about Adopt-A-Pet and explained that one little girl was left from the litter and if they hurried, they may be able to adopt her. They did, and I can’t tell you how happy that made us to know that other sweet little girl found a forever home. We continue to tell people in our community about you and the work you do because we strongly believe in helping our animal friends – and you have made a commitment not to kill them. Thank you for that. We will continue doing our part to send donations when we can and tell people about how important you are. From one animal lover to another, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
